A very good still and video camera. Lovely little thing, but that is also its problem; if you have big hands avoid, otherwise buy now.

I bought mine in Singapore but Amazons UK price is now pretty similar. Its a beautifully made bit of kit and so small youll feel like taking it with you. If youre like me, a bigger camcorder rarely leaves the house except for holidays, this will slip in a trouser pocket! As it records on to an SD card you probably need to get at least a 2GB one to have enough room. Files are saved as Quick Time movies to view on a PC but can be viewed on a TV too. As a 6MP still camera its pretty good quality and has different scene settings though a stand alone camera would be a better bet and give more adjustment options. Operation is very simple and it even talks to you to tell you which camera mode you are in; still or movie. If you are an irregular camcorder user I think you will find this a fun and useful product but I agree with the previous reviewer that big hands would be a problem.

I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that the Sanyo Xacti C6 would be the perfect camcorder/camera for me.

I've had a 3mp camera before that was quite good, and a couple of camcorders.

The spec of the C6 appeared to fit the bill perfectly - I'm not on a crazy quest for absolutely the best possible quality, but I was looking for something that was reasonable, and that worked.

What no one else seems to mention with the C6 is that for a 6mp camera the picture quality is bad, very bad. Its fuzzy, it is difficult to get a non fuzzy picture out of it (unless all your pictures are taken in perfect day light on a tripod - which most peoples are not).

Then lets move on to the video. How the other reviewers haven't picked this up I don't know - maybe they haven't taken their video files and played them through a PC or (god forbid) a TV, or even made a DVD out of them, because there is always a constant noise that is recorded with your footage that is caused by the recording of the stepper motor that is controlling the focus. OK, if you are recording your friends in a noisey pub, then this won't matter to you because you probably won't hear it, but if you are recording anything else where the back ground noise is minimal then you're going to here it and you'll find that what with this and the photo picture quality you will rapidly loose all faith in the product, and subsequently the brand.

Let me be clear, I'm not being fussy, these really are some seriously crappy flaws in a product that could have been so perfect.

Be careful. The file type is .afs ... so if you're using a Mac you need to get a separate file converter (they seem to be about $25) before you can use the videos from this camera in iMovie. All the blurb and packaging says MPEG - which would infer you can use the files directly in iMovie projects - but that isn't the case. Frankly, I think the product is misrepresented. (And by the way, the first camera I ordered was dead on arrival ... so had to wait for a replacement. Not so great an experience overall).

This seemed to work ok initially taking short videos and photos but then I used it to record a gig and the (new) batteries died after a few monutes of filming. I changed them only to have the new batteries die even quicker. I ended up recording the rest of the gig using my phone and then to my dismay found that none of the footage I recorded with the camera had actually saved. I feel totally ripped off and let down. What a waste of money.

Baught this thinking it would be decent wuality and cheap. Video and picture quality in itself is great for such a price, Device itself is 2 light which kinda got me wondering as soon as i had picked it up. Editing software is ok but rather use windows movie maker as it has alto more freedom.

When i go tmy camera it was defective, whenever i tried to take a picture it would reboot (The battery said it was dead after about 1 min and 5 seconds of recording time)

I got a replacement which worked fine for about 1 day then the exact same defect started up.

a few of my friends have had Aiptek camcorders before and they all said that there was atleast 1 defect in the hardware or software part of the camcorder.

All in all i give this item 0/5 stars... of course if i give 0 on here no1 will see how poo it is.

If you are looking for a cheap, easy to use, good quality digital camcorder i would reccommend the TCL DV007.

This is a great little camcorder for the casual/not too serious user. Just drop it in your pocket take it with you and with one click of a button start recording and the results are really not that bad.
Windows Media Player recognises the file format and it adds a whole new dimension to taking the dog for a walk or capturing that not to be missed birthday or christmas party.Get yourself some 2700 ma hour re-chargeable batteries and they'll be good enough for 40 minutes or so of recording (takes x2)and with a 2GB SD card which are as cheap as chips now this camcorder will give you hours of pleasure.Just one small point to watch --the battery cover is not the easiest of things to remove. It needs quite a lot of downward pressure on the cover whilst sliding it towards yourself.Apart from that it's a great little piece of kit.

A lovely little smart looking case with tough velcro secure fastener. I bought this for my mini camcorder which keep my cam snug and scratch free. So I have the whole package for my hols - great buy!
